Yamuna
has been a patient of Rainbow Children's Hospital since
September 30, 2006. This girl is a victim of Malignant Immune
Hemolytic Anemia — a rare blood disorder that occurs to one in
2.5 million. Initially, the doctors treated her with IV
immunoglobulins and Methylprednisoloa. However, when her
condition did not improve for five days, the doctors had no
option but to recommend IV Riteauxmob — which acts against
B-Lymphocytes.
IV
Riteauxmob is a very expensive medicine that needs to be
imported. Yamuna needs to be treated with this medicine for
approximately another 5-6 weeks to recover. She has also been
effected with fungal osteomylitis of maxilla and needs a long
term remission induction therapy. However, her family, which
is extremely poor, is no condition to meet the cost of the
treatment, estimated at Rs. 7,45,000/- (Seven lakhs forty five
thousand rupees). Please see the attached hospital estimate.
The
family is running out of resources and desperately requires
your financial support to save Yamuna’s life. Please donate
generously.
